Societies

Societies are a big part of university life here at Derby. Run by students and guided by their memberships our societies offer regular, inclusive, opportunities to get involved and be part of our vibrant community.

From meeting like-minded people to trying something completely new, societies are the perfect way to enhance your student experience and unwind from the responsibilities of studying.

Societies are supported by the Societies Council, a group of democratically elected society members who oversee the operational side of things.

The best thing about societies is that the possibilities are endless. So if you don’t see the society you’d like to join in the A-Z below, find at least five people who agree and come and talk to us about starting a new one!
