Sexual Violence Liaison Offices

Our friendly and supportive Sexual Violence Liaison Officers (SVLOs) are available to offer confidential one-to-one support to all members of the University who have been affected by sexual violence or misconduct.

Their role is to listen empathetically and without judgement. You can tell your SVLO as much or as little as you like about what has happened and in your own time. They will ensure that you have all the necessary support available, helping you to access that support. They can also provide information on the reporting options, both within the University and externally. However, they will never pressure you to make any decisions on reporting the incident and instead they will support whatever you feel is best for you.

They can also liaise with external organisations and other University staff on your behalf.

Support can be accessed in person in our confidential and comfortable advice rooms, over the phone, or via Microsoft Teams.

To access the service, please email svlo@derbyunion.co.uk or call 01332 591 507 where our friendly advice assistant will schedule an appointment for you.

As an SVLO, I am committed to helping those who have experienced sexual violence find the support they deserve, in a space where they feel safe and understood.
