Food waste disposed of in general is sent to landfill and unable to decompose. It creates methane, an extremely harmful green house gas. Students across all of UoD's halls of residence are doing this every day! There needs to be a solution, no matter how small to begin with, to stop this practice. Perhaps, compost bins on sight for scraps and food collection schemes/community fridges to stop unnecessary waste? Compost can also be used as fertilizer at UoD's allotments!

Sounds like a great way to help the union be more green and sustainable.

I think this is a great idea to improve sustainability! Are there any on University campuses too? If not there should be!
