I have been to a couple of Universities where they have had a Fruit and Veg stall that regularly visits the campus. This would be convenient for those on campus, be supporting a local business and reduce plastic. Along with encouraging healthy eating habits, the produce is likely to be relatively cheap and contribute to the reduction of food waste (as the produce won't be pre-packaged and therefore you can choose quantities). I believe there would be a high demand for this service.

Something for our One Friar Gate Square students, the Criminology Society will be hopefully commencing sales of fresh fruit, for anyone using that site, I think in the new year (I will check with them). Also, our Fridays For Future Society will be taking on responsibility for our allotment, so hopefully some Uni grown fruit and veg could be hitting your pockets in the Spring!

Thanks all for your ideas which are actively taken into account by the Union of Student Executive Committee. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, the Union of Students are facing unprecedented financial times with the closure of our commercial outlets. As a result a number of Union staff have been placed on furlough leave and our Full TIme Officers are responding directly to student voice related to the impact of COVID-19 on student wellbeing and experience. During this time we cannot hold a summit to review ideas and in the short term it is unlikely unrelated ideas will be actioned. They will however not be forgotten, remain live and will be returned to whenever we are able. We appreciate your patience.
