The last academic year saw every student at the university get the chance to use Trend antivirus software for free for the year. This year that has been cut to 6 months. Given the current climate, I feel that the students would greatly benefit from having this for the full year again. With us all turning to technology for the foreseeable to take part in our studies, it is now more important than ever to keep ourselves protected online.

Windows 10 should come with Microsoft Defender which should suffice compared to some of the more expensive one's out there. Have a look at some tutorials on setting up firewalls and running virus scans with it. Also consider installing a password manager for your browser. I highly recommend LastPass or Dashlane. It generates really secure passwords for you so you don't just have one password used for everything, and then makes logging in with these an absolute breeze. You only have to remember one password that you create and ideally keep secure. If one of your passwords get's compromised in a breach, there's really no need to sweat. Changing it is super easy.
