Whilst we appreciate the issues of COVID, we healthcare students do not feel we are getting the full benefit of lectures as they are all online, and many are pre-recorded and we don’t feel like we are getting the feedback we need. This is not a dig at our tutors, we think they are amazing. We do feel though that as students whose future role will be looking after people and having their lives in our hands, we should get on campus teaching and feedback to be learning properly what we need to know

10:38pm on 25 Feb 21 I don't understand the rationale behind not allowing healthcare students to have on-site teaching. Some of the subjects that are listed to re-commence on site teaching don't jump out as needing a great deal of 'hands on' skills.

9:20am on 26 Feb 21 As a student nurse, with no previous healthcare experience, I am finding this course incredibly difficult as a lot of learning is self directed and we have to search for it. A lot of the self-directed courses we have done are free to anyone who wants the certificate and are not exclusive to student nurses. I am quite concerned that some of the other courses which are seen as "practical" are allowed on site whilst as nurses, our course is not viewed in the same way. One day, we will have someone's life in our hands and the practical experience we could gain before that is vital to our training. Nurses from some other universities, all over the country, have still been going on site so I would like an explanation as to why we were not doing the same as well as an explanation for the "blended learning" we haven't been doing. A lot of students can't get to grips with the amount of online learning and it is affecting the well being and mental health of some students.
