    Biodegradable straws in the academy!

      Really love the use of wooden(?) cutlery instead of plastic here, but why are we still using plastic straws? Girls on nights out always use straws to protect their lipstick- spoons have gone for paper why can't we? (Or at least a biodegradable plastic)

    11:16pm on 28 Jun 18 Great idea. We need to do as much as possible all throughout the university to reduce single use plastics. Since most of the current used cutlery and as you say straws cannot be recycled

    12:32pm on 7 Oct 19 Hi Anna, Great news! All of our straws in the Academy are no biodegrable and have been for some time now. We're also working hard to find other affordable ways of reducing the amount of single use plastics we have across our outlets so keep your eyes open for more changes.
