I would like to see the Blackwells £100 voucher scheme continue into 2021-22 for all students enrolled on courses at Derby. This has benefited a large number of students including those on low incomes having to support themselves through University. Additionally, it makes sure there is a Blackwells on campus. I wanted to raise this idea, not in response to any particular announcement but to express how popular the scheme is and that students want it to remain in place for September 2021.

9:35am on 11 May 21 This has really helped me and having 3 children, this has been a god send. And it has enabled to buy the books relevant for my study as books can be so expensive.

9:57am on 11 May 21 This a scheme has definitely been a help to me. With a reduced income as a full time student & the cost of books going up, this has allowed me to buy books that will last my entire course and into my working life.

10:08am on 11 May 21 This is a good scheme as I have had a few on my course who are parents and this has helped them out lots

11:28am on 11 May 21 This is a great scheme but we also need to find a way to roll it out to part time students.

1:23pm on 11 May 21 100% agree, this has helped me out massively with buying resources for my course and without it, I would not be able to own the books that I do

10:34pm on 11 May 21 This is a fantastic idea, and it means that people can feel more comfortable financially in regards to textbooks and resources as they are not cheap! This has definitely helped me, if I didn't have the Blackwell's voucher I would not have been able to afford any textbooks and I would have suffered as a consequence.

1:35pm on 17 May 21 The Union have been actively involved in discussion regarding the future of the Blackwells scheme. We understand that the scheme will continue to be available for students next year and we are campaigning to make the support available for part-time students. The University's Value for Money Group are considering ways to make the scheme more flexible for future cohorts, but we understand this is with the aim to enhance and not replace the existing offer. We will continue to post updates on the status of the scheme under this idea post.
