My Manifesto
Hi everyone, I’m Roshini, an international student, and I’m currently in my first year studying MSc Sustainability and Environmental Management. I chose to run for Sustainability Officer as I am passionate about sustainability issues such as the environment and social justice. I want to shape the world around sustainability where students can act to make a change.

I work for a sustainability consulting firm where I am actively involved in projects relating to sustainability. I was also a previous member of the Chemical Engineering Society at my local university and have worked towards making it a green campus. The Sustainability Officer role will further enable me to put into practice my experiences and help make sustainable changes at our university’s campuses.
If I am elected, I aim to

• Continuously obtain feedback from students on improving the environmental performance of university activities.

• Help integrate sustainability into the procurement process of the Union of Students by sourcing supplies from environmentally friendly suppliers.

• Help identify the environmental impacts of student and union activities and propose options to reduce these impacts.

• Increase the number of awareness campaigns on sustainability and regularly educate students on waste, water, energy, and carbon emission reduction.
