Caitlin's Secretary of Climbing Manifesto
Hi, my name is Caitlin Waldron and I am running for the position of Secretary of the Climbing Society because I have been involved with the society this year and I want to take it a step further and get involved with the committee. As the Secretary of the Climbing Society, I will make sure it is bursting with events and socials. I will make sure that people are interested in the socials, by making them advise what socials they would prefer, trying to get rid of the boredom of the same socials. From doing the correct paperwork, and being involved in the committee’s activities and events planning, I will do my best to make the society run smoothly. Furthermore, I already have experience with completing paperwork, like risk assessments, because of my course. I also have great communication skills, which will allow me to talk to the other committee members about problems or things that the society wants.
My vision for the Society:

I will increase the social events, and try to open up a poll of what people want to do this year, if it’s climbing trips, laser tag, bake sales, anything! Entertainment will improve through people's choices.

I will try to work with the rest of the committee to make more inclusive climbing routes.

I will try to keep the competitive climbing sessions with Jamie as the knowledge is valuable.

I would try to make time for more climbing/social based trips, for example, a weekend climbing in the Peak District with social events, e.g. walks, pubs, etc.

To reflect on what individuals want out of the committee and the society.

I will make sure the society will reach its full potential, with the help of the student’s union and my fellow committee members.
