Sarah Bingham

Hi, i'm Sarah Bingham and im running to be your next PR Officer. I'm 19 years old and from Northern Ireland and am currently in my first year of primary education. I love the social aspect that comes along with being involved in netball and I am running for this role as it is the main reason why I myself am now a member.

This position is just as important as all the others. It is the reason many of the girls that are currently members came to know about netball. Being a part of this club has made a massive impact on my first year at university and it is where I have made the majortiy of my friends. I want to be able to be a part of this in the coming year and give new members the chance that I had. I want new members to be able to see what we are like as a club through all social media platforms and encourange new people to get involved by showing them what events we have on and always keeping up on important club news, for example, trials or retrails for BUCS teams, or weekly fixtures and team lists, making sure everyone is always kept informed.

I will make sure that all posts will be fun and exciting that can be shared by the rest of the club members, this in turn will help reach a higher number of people and therefore get more people informed of what is going on in the club, weekly fixtures that need supporting and events being hosted by netball, for example, spookabout.

I will ensure that all platforms are kept up to date with other clubs and societies events if someone is attending and this will help to show that netball is committed to helping and supporting all other clubs and societies when they have an event running.

I would love to work closely with the future charity officer to raise awareness of the charities we are sponsoring at our events and also show how we are committed as a club to the charities we have chosen to support. I would also ensure we are always posting for things such as international womens day or mental health awareness week and really get all of the club involved in the posts.

One thing I want to implement as a weekly feature is a social media takeover. This will show non-members what it is like to be a part of BUCS teams and also to see how we party on a wednesday night. I feel like this is a fun new way to encourage people who dont attend netball to really get involved when they see what it is actually like to be part of such a fun club and also a good way for current members to see if BUCS is something they would be interested in when it comes to trails or re-trails.

Thank you for taking the time to read and I hope you will consider me for you new club PR Officer.
