On Tuesday 28th November the Union held its first All Student Meeting, where a series of changes to the Union of Students were voted on by over 50 students. It was great to see so many members taking part in this important process, and we would like to thank everyone who turned out to vote and voice your opinions, either in person, virtually or by using our postal voting system.
The outcome of each vote was as follows:
Proposal 1: NUS Affiliation - PASSED
The proposal introduced a way for NUS affiliations to be voted on in a Company Law Meeting, in addition to the annual referendum.
Proposal 2: Special Votes – PASSED
This proposal was to allow more Union representatives to be a Scrutiny Panel panellist, and gives provision for University leadership staff to attend the panels.
What Happens Next?
Changes approved at the ASM will be put into effect and amended in our Standing Orders as soon as possible. You can expect to see these changes in action very soon.
I want to make changes, how can I do that?
