The Funeral of Her Majesty the Queen will be on Monday 19th September, which will be a bank holiday. Along with the University of Derby, all Union of Students outlets and services will be closed on the date of the funeral to ensure that all staff and students have the opportunity to pay their respects.
There are still loads of chances for you to meet new people and have a great start to University as any events that are scheduled before the funeral will go ahead as planned, including Chesterfield Freshers Fair on Friday 16th September and WelcomeFest on Saturday 17th September.
Events planned for Monday 19th September have been rescheduled, which means that our Freshers Fair will now take place on Tuesday 20th September and Wednesday 21st September. This will be your first opportunity to get to know Sports, Societies and Student Led Services, get involved with Student Voice and Representation, and learn about our Advice service.
