Every year we celebrate the success and achievements within the Union with three awards ceremonies – the Community Awards, the Sports Awards and the Education Awards. These awards evenings are an exciting way to recognise the great things our student groups have been up to and an opportunity for students to dress up and celebrate with friends!
The ceremonies are ticketed events that are open to all students who wish to attend, so here’s a run-down of what you can expect at each Awards evening!
The Community Awards
This awards evening celebrates the achievements and successes of the Union’s community. It recognises all of the fantastic events and opportunities that have been offered to society and student led service members over the academic year, as well as the individuals that work behind the scenes to make them happen.
Awards include:
- Community Personality of the Year
- Event of the Year
- Society of the Year
The Sports Awards
This awards evening celebrates a season of sports with our 33 clubs. We celebrate the sporting successes as well as the work that clubs have done outside of fixtures to create an inclusive sporting community.
Awards include:
- Sports Personality of the Year
- Sports Team of the Year
- Committee of the Year
The Education Awards
This awards evening is slightly different to our other two as it also celebrates staff alongside students. It is a celebration of all the hard work and dedication of our Student Reps and the inspirational staff at the University. Students and staff can nominate each other for these coveted awards and then come together to celebrate.
Awards include:
- PAL Leader of the Year
- Biggest Student Officer Success
- Professional Support Staff of the Year
- Lecturer of the Year
We are incredibly proud of all of the hard work, effort and passion our clubs put into their work throughout the year, which is why we want to showcase it and celebrate a year of student led events and accomplishments.
