The survey covers a range of topics related to academic and student life and includes a question about the Union, "How well does the students union represent students' academic interests?" The results were released last week, and we were pleased to see our score was 74.39; an increase in our score from last year and slightly above the sector average. As a Union we want to to see our score increase year on year, and are keen to work with our membership to understand how we can improve our offer to students.

Reflecting on the recent release of the NSS scores, I'm proud to see the improvement. Over the past year, the officers and I have worked hard to align with our strategic values, which are closely linked with the university’s values also. I'm especially proud that by increasing our visibility as a Union and fostering a sense of community and belonging among students, we've built a strong sense of trust. We'll continue to amplify the voice and needs of our students, represent them across the board, and bring about meaningful change.
In the upcoming year, the officer team and I will work collaboratively with the university to further improve our National Student Survey (NSS) results. We will collaborate to address key areas such as teaching quality, assessment feedback, and student support services. Having developed a new vision this year, we will utilise our existing relationships and experiences to achieve our goals. By working together to support and advocate for the student body, we aim to enhance the NSS results once again.
