From meditation to mini-golf, we crammed in a lot of activities to last week.

This year, the Union’s staff and officer team have worked hard to bring you a varied mix of in-person and virtual events to welcome you to the University of Derby. Our purpose-built Freshers Village was home to a lot of our events, with our cinema nights and comedy evening all sold out to students looking for a safe and social way to start their Derby experience.

The highlight of this week was certainly our two-day Freshers Fair, with many of you passing through to meet local businesses and our amazing range of sports clubs and societies who were on hand to provide information on their plans and offer for the coming year. Our Derby Arms outdoor bar proved a popular spot to grab a drink and burger in the sunshine on Tuesday, or to escape the rain when it poured down on us on Wednesday!

We would like to thank our partners for helping to make Freshers possible this year; Dominos Pizza, House of Holes, Student Living, Intu and Trent Barton. Thanks also to the University of Derby for supporting us to make these events happen and for allowing us use of the 3G sports pitch to host the Village for the week.

We hope you have all enjoyed visiting the Village and would love to receive your feedback on your experiences of the week. Please complete our short survey to share your thoughts with us, and be in with the chance of winning a £50.00 Amazon gift voucher: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/85DR29P

There is still more to come from the Union, a wide range of virtual activities and sporting Give it A Go events are coming up over the next couple of weeks. Please continue to check our homepage and social media for more information on the things you can get involved with.
