Whilst nights out are all about having a good time, it's important to keep yourself safe. Take a look at these top tips and remember them next time you head out!

Stick together

It's important to stay with people on a night out and avoid walking through town on your own. You've heard the saying 'safey in numbers', so stick to that! Our advice? Arrive together, stay together, leave together.

Book your taxi before you leave

If you're getting a taxi home, book it before you leave the venue. This will help you avoid having to wait outside for it to arrive and you can stay indoors until your taxi is there. Don't forget to always check the license plates to make sure you're getting in the right car!

Bring your sensible hat

We're not talking about an actual hat (unless it's part of the outfit of course...), just being sensible and alert on a night out. Keep your valuables close, keep an eye on your drinks, and if something doesn't look right, tell somebody - either a friend or a member of staff.

This year, your VP (Welfare) Jack is focusing on student safety as one of his key campaigns; here's what he has to say about student safety on nights out:

Coming to university is always an exciting part of people’s lives and it’s important to be involved in as much as possible and make the most of it. But it’s equally as important to stay safe and get home after a night of clubbing or hitting the bars. Our tips have been made with the experience of developing events and are here to help make sure you have a night of fun.
