Voice

The Union’s Voice team are here to make sure students have a platform to use their voice and create positive change within the Union and University. From Elections to the Ideas Forum, there are plenty of opportunities for you to raise your voice and represent the student body.

Who runs the Union?

The Union is for students, which is why we're led by students. We have four Executive Officers (pictured above!) who are recent graduates and know the ins and outs of student life at the University of Derby; these are four faces that will become very familiar over the next year, and they have been elected to represent students across the board. Additionally, we have Student Officers who represent the student population in roles that cover Education and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI). A staff team of around 30 work alongside our Officers to ensure that we live up to our values of being: challenging, empowering, student-led, transformative and supportive.

We want to ensure that every single student has the best possible experience throughout their journey, which is why we strive to give students the platform to raise their voice and create positive change with the Union and University. There are so many ways to get involved with us, so keep your eyes on our social media channels (@derbyunion on everything!) for the latest updates and events.
