Do you have an idea that will improve the student experience? The Ideas Forum is the place for you!
What is the Ideas Forum?
The Ideas Forum is a place where you can submit any and all ideas for change - big or small. It's a direct and efficient way to make your voice heard and allow us to make changes alongside the University that reflect the current needs and wants of students. We encourage you to use it as much as you like throughout your studies and check the forum for any new ideas that might affect you.
How do I submit an idea?
Simply head to the Ideas Forum page and scroll down to find the "add a new idea" button. You can then share all of the details of your idea and why you think this is a needed change - tell us things like how it would be funded, who it would apply to. By providing as much detail as possible, you'll create a more compelling case and other students can get a better understanding of the impact this could have - especially if it's something that doesn't relate to them. If you want to, you can submit an idea anonymously.
What happens next?
After you've submitted your idea, it will be visible on the Ideas Forum so that your fellow students can read it. If people like the idea and would also like to see that change implemented, they can 'upvote' it. This also works the other way around, so if someone doesn't like your idea they can 'downvote' it. If an idea reaches 25 upvotes, it will be disccused in the next Executive Committee meeting and we will look into how it can be implemented.
Before you post please consider the following
- Make sure your idea clearly states what you want to change and why – give as much detail as possible. If you don’t, we may have to delete your idea or it could be rejected by students for being too vague.
- Check the ‘ view passed ideas’ tab – we might already be working on your idea!
- Check to see if your idea has already been posted by someone else – if so, don’t post the idea again, but vote and comment on the existing idea
- Check to see if your idea has been rejected and why under the ‘view rejected ideas’ tab – it might mean slight changes to your post, or it might give you an insight in to how students felt about this topic.
