Labour
Derby Labour Students is a democratic socialist society. It believes that by the strength of our common endeavour we achieve more than we achieve alone. We wish to create for each of us the means to realise our true potential and for all of us a community in which power, wealth and opportunity are in the hands of the many not the few; where the rights we enjoy reflect the duties we owe and where we live together freely, in a spirit of solidarity, tolerance and respect, not in spite of our differences but because of them.
Derby Labour Students believe in student solidarity. We work in Derby with the local party and trade unions as a show of the strength of solidarity in action.
As Labour Students, we also want to make students aware of their political surroundings. A cost of living crisis is affecting students like never before, with many having to work many hours to make ends meet. As a result, struggling to balance their job and education. We wish to highlight the importance of trade unions, and the impirtance of voting in elections.
It is now General Election year. If you want to help change our society, join Derby Labour Students!
