Tracking Proficiencies

There are many proficiencies to meet during your placement, and it can be overwhelming to remember and explain everything you've done by the time of your final interview. You might also find some proficiency requirements unclear or difficult to achieve in your specific field.

To help you track your progress, you’ll find four documents linked below, one for each field of nursing: Adult, Children’s, Mental Health, and Learning Disability.

These documents provide field-specific examples for meeting proficiencies across Stages 1, 2, and 3, inspired by resources from the University of Nottingham and updated with additional examples from our and other students’ experiences.

Each document includes space for your notes, so you can document activities that contribute to achieving any of your proficiencies. If you find new ways to meet proficiencies, please share them with the creators of this Guide to support future students!
