Student Parents & Carers

We are the Student Parents Society and represent all student parents and carers/guardians and the issues they face at university such as child care and absences due to carer commitments. 

The Society endeavours to provide fellow students with support and tips on managing work loads and deadlines alongside family life.

We believe involving our children in our university experience is important and do this through fun and exciting social events inspired by our children's ideas and the continuation and development of facilities such as the Student Parent Room in the Kedleston Road Library. 

We hope you will join us and feel supported and hopefully inspire our children to reach for their dreams as we are reaching for ours!

Ultimately we hope to ensure that Derby University is a viable option for parents and carers and that their needs are represented effectively.
