Welcome to our University of Derby Rounders Softball page!

Meeting new people, having a laugh and making new memories as a team is exactly what we're about. If that sounds good to you, come & join Rounders!

We are now into our seventh year, bringing students together from all stages and really establishing ourselves as a team, not to mention working closely with the Unions Sports Council and making our mark at the University. We are the first UK university to have been accredited with the Rounders Mark which has been renewed for another year! Along with this Rounders is now officially a BUCS Sport beginning in January 2025!!

We love to host and attend lots of events during the academic year from Wednesday socials and friendly matches to the National Rounders England Tournament. 

If you would like to join this ever-growing team and want to be involved with our journey, join us for our Give it a Go sessions on the 17th and 24th of September on the Lower pitch at 5:30 and come and see us on the 17th and 18th September at Freshers Fair!

How much is it to join?

To participate in the sessions, you will need both the Union Pass (£20) and £40 Rounders Club Membership. The Union Sports Pass is a one-time annual fee of £20 that allows you to participate in sports at your Union. As a Union Sports member, you receive the following benefits:

• Access to join our Sports Clubs and access training sessions

• You are eligible to compete in Tournaments throughout the year

• Able to purchase tickets to the Sports Awards

• Specific Personal Accident Insurance for student sport through Endsleigh, if you are injured as part any club activities - https://www.derbyunion.co.uk/getinvolved/memberresources/

• Access to coaching and officiating bursaries through club application to the Union.

The Union Sports Pass also helps keep our clubs affordable by helping the Union fund training and competition opportunities.
